Our Pediatric and Medical Associates Staff

Dr. Greg Germain grew up in Fairfield and attended Fairfield University. He then attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and went on to complete his Pediatric Residency training at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital.  He joined Pediatric & Medical Associates in 1995.  Dr. Germain enjoys all aspects of being a pediatrician but has always had a particular interest in Pediatric Endocrinology, particularly disorders of growth.  During the early part of his career he spent 18 years under the mentorship of Dr. Thomas Carpenter, seeing patients in Yale Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic and growing his knowledge in the field. Dr. Germain is a gifted writer and over the years has contributed articles to a number of websites, books and magazines to educate parents about common children’s health problems and parenting challenges.

In 2013, Dr Germain was appointed to serve as the Associate Chair of Children’s Services at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. In this role, he serves as a liaison between the community pediatricians and the Children’s Hospital, and works hard to ensure that all children in the community have access to the highest level of care. Dr. Germain has received numerous awards including the Linda Ives Award for Excellence in Pediatric Clinical Research and the Morris Krosnick Award for Outstanding Pediatric Resident, and  the Yale Department of Social Work Angel Award. He is appointed an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine and Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UConn School of Medicine.

He resides in Fairfield with his wife and 3 children (who are responsible for teaching him more pediatrics than he cares to admit).

Dr. Dyan Griffin was raised in Stratford Connecticut and completed her undergraduate studies at Fairfield University where she majored in Biology. She attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and then completed her residency at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. After residency, she was chosen to stay on an additional year to serve as Chief Resident of Pediatrics. She subsequently joined Pediatric & Medical Associates in July of 2001. Dr. Griffin is a Clinical Instructor at the UCONN School of Medicine and Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale University School of Medicine. She is particularly interested in Adolescent Medicine and enjoys working with teens. She lives in Lordship with her husband, two daughters and dog, Dante. She enjoys hiking and traveling with friends and family.

Dr. Christine Patterson grew up in Southeastern Connecticut and was a Neuroscience major at Smith College in Northampton, MA.  She attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine during which time she was assigned to be Dr. Germain’s student.  She saw patients at PMA each week and it was this experience, as well as Dr. Germain’s mentorship,  that convinced Christine that pediatrics was the right field for her. She went on to complete her residency in Pediatric at Yale- New Haven Children’s Hospital. She was selected to stay an additional year at Yale to serve as Chief Resident, and then she joined PMA in 2008.

Dr. Patterson is interested in pediatric rheumatology and spends time each week working in Yale’s Pediatric Rheumatology Clinic to improve her knowledge and skills in that area.

Dr. Patterson lives in Killingworth with her husband and two children. She enjoys playing terrible golf and all outdoor activities that wear out her children.

Dr. Uluski is a lifelong resident of Cheshire and graduate of Cheshire High School. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Union College in Schenectady, NY, and his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at the University of Connecticut at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. He stayed at CCMC an additional year as Chief Resident, and it was during this year that Dr. Uluski began caring for our patients at PMA. He joined the practice full time in 2014.

Dr. Uluski’s professional interests include all aspects of children’s medical care, especially children with complex/chronic medical conditions and sports medicine. He is passionate about providing education to parents, families, and future physicians. He is a Clinical Instructor at both UConn School of Medicine and Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Uluski is also the medical director at Cheshire Academy and is actively involved with the care of children for local summer camps.

Dr. Uluski lives in Cheshire with his wife and five children. His interests include all sports, specifically long distance running and softball. In 2018 he completed the New York City Marathon with his father. He is also Commissioner of the Cheshire Men’s Softball League.

Meridith Cowperthwait grew up in East Granby, CT.  She attended Gettysburg College where she earned her Bachelors in Health and Exercise Sciences.  She went on to receive her Advanced Nursing Degree at the Yale School of Nursing.  She worked in Pediatrics in Bridgeport, CT before joining Pediatric and Medical Associates in 2004.   Meridith has a special interest in asthma and oversees the Asthma Management Program.  She also manages the office’s Emergency Preparedness.

Meridith is a clinical preceptor for the Yale School of Nursing APRN program.

She lives in Guilford with her husband and 2 children.  In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, refinishing furniture and traveling with her family.

Tara Sangster grew up in Clinton, CT. She attended University of Connecticut where she earned her Bachelors in the Science of Nursing. She then worked as an RN at CT Children’s on one of their medical-surgical units, MS6. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Nursing Practice/Family Nurse Practitioner Degree from Sacred Heart University. 

Tara currently lives in Madison, CT with her husband, daughter, and their dog Milo. In her free time, she enjoys taking Peloton classes, going for walks by the water with her husband & dog, cooking & baking, traveling, and spending time with her friends & family.

Christina received both her RN and MSN degrees from the Yale School of Nursing. Prior to pursuing nursing, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Brown University and a Master’s in Public Health and Clinical Outcomes Research from Dartmouth College.

She lives in Madison, Connecticut, with her husband and their two children. Outside of work, Tina enjoys running, hiking, swimming, and spending time with her family.

Lauren grew up in Northern Virginia and earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Denison University. She went on to complete her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner training at the Yale University School of Nursing. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Lauren worked as a registered nurse at Yale Health and Pediatric & Medical Associates while completing her graduate studies.

Lauren has a particular interest in infectious diseases and tuberculosis care. She currently lives in New Haven, where she enjoys exploring East Rock and trying new restaurants. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys golfing, attending yoga and Pilates classes, and spending time with family and friends.

Olivia Godfrey is a family nurse practitioner who joined PMA in 2025. She is a two-time Fairfield University graduate with a BSN (2020) and MSN (2025). She has previous nursing background in cardiac medicine at Yale and as a travel nurse, and went on to receive extensive gastroenterology training in the outpatient setting. She has special interests in pediatric GI and functional abdominal disorders, and hopes to become an IBD specialist throughout her career.

When she is not working, Olivia enjoys spending time with her husband and their two rescue dogs, Remy and Lady, at their home in Black Rock. She enjoys traveling (ask about her travel nursing adventures!), loves to read, explore new coffee shops, and spend time with her niece Fiona.

Shana joined Pediatric & Medical Associates in December 2025, bringing more than 20 years of healthcare leadership and practice management experience. She has led multidisciplinary teams, enhanced clinical operations, and supported initiatives that improve the quality and efficiency of patient care.

Before joining Pediatric & Medical Associates, Shana held leadership roles at Connecticut Children’s, where she helped oversee primary care operations and strategic initiatives. She earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the College of Our Lady of the Elms and is committed to fostering collaboration, operational excellence, and exceptional care for every patient and family.
