Routine and Sick Visits: Our New Haven CT Pediatric and Cheshire Pediatrics office hours have been extended as an additional consideration to our families. Both offices are open for regularly scheduled office and sick visits during the following office hours:
*Please note, our staff takes a lunch break from 11:45 – 12:45 pm, but the Triage Line is always open.
New Haven: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-6:00pm, Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 8:30am-12:00pm
Cheshire: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-6:00pm, Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
When making routine well appointments at our CT pediatric practice offices, feel free to choose an individual physician or nurse practitioner for your ongoing care. When calling for same day sick visits, there are physicians and nurse practitioners available Monday through Friday in both offices to accommodate you.
After hours coverage is always available by calling the main office numbers and working with the answering service. Please be sure your phone accepts “Blocked Calls” so that our physicians can return your calls as soon as possible. Check with your phone carrier for instructions if you need to adjust this feature on your phone. Please reserve non-urgent matters for regular office hours. Prescription refills and billing questions, for example, cannot be accommodated after hours.
Triage Nurses
Our triage nurses play an essential role in office by serving as one of the first points of contact for families seeking medical advice and guidance. They assess patients’ symptoms and concerns over the phone or through electronic messages, determine the urgency of the situation, and provide evidence-based recommendations for home care, scheduling an office visit, or seeking more immediate medical attention when necessary. Triage nurses also assist with medication questions, review laboratory and test results, coordinate referrals, and help ensure that children receive timely and appropriate care. By offering education, reassurance, and support to families, triage nurses help improve access to care, promote patient safety, and enhance the overall efficiency of the pediatric practice.
Advice Line
Advice line staff is available in both offices during office hours. They will respond to immediate health concerns, make appointments, and discuss options for treatment. Our advice line staff is highly trained and should be able to respond to all your requests quickly and accurately. If you would prefer to have your child seen urgently, please let the advice line staff know.
